EuropeActive hosted the first meeting for the Blueprint for Skills Cooperation and Employment in Active Leisure project on February 6 and 7, 2018 in their premises in Brussels. The kick-off meeting has been attended by representatives of the 7 partner organisations: European Confederation of Outdoor Employers, European Network of Sport Education, Fundación España Activa, Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego i Sportu im. Jedrzeja Sniadecki, International Council for Coaching Excellence and Sport Coaching Ireland.

Two external experts will support the work of the project consortium: Steve McQuaid who as former Head of Coach Education for Sport Coach UK, led the development of the UK Coaching certificate and Andrew Grant, one of the lead experts in the EU Expert Group on Human Resources Development.

Furthermore, the Blueprint kick-off meeting was attended by Agata Dziarnowska from the sport unit of DG EAC to present an update of the European Commission’s perspective on sport and human resource development. Following the first meeting, the consortium will work in Technical Expert Groups (TEG) to conduct different studies for the Active Leisure Sector, update Active Leisure qualifications and apply ECVET and ECTS to foster pan-European use and labor market mobility. The next TEG meetings will take place end of May 2018 for consolidation and peer review.
